As you start to explore what Stitch Fix has to offer and get to know some of our treasured Stylists, we want to take a moment to celebrate them as humans, too. Because, while all of our Stylists are true style experts, just like you, they’re unique individuals first, each with their own lives, passions, challenges and stories to tell.
Here at the blog in particular, we rely on a select group of Stylists to help us with easy fashion tips and tricks. They call themselves “The Blog Squad,” and we’re so excited for this opportunity to introduce them to you.
So say hello to “The Blog Squad:” Dania, Erin, Landess and Michelle. They’re sharing a little bit about themselves and their style philosophies, their favorite styling advice and a few fun facts. Let’s get into it!
DANIA
StyleFile style personality: Modern Prep
Fun fact: She’s also a couture designer
What is the best part of your job as a Stylist?
Being a Stylist is so rewarding. I love surprising my clients by sending them a mystery item that would suit them or contribute to their style journey. It brings a huge smile to my face when I receive feedback from clients about how well each item worked for them.
What is your personal style mantra?
Confidence is the key to happiness, and sometimes it comes from how we express ourselves through clothing. Never be afraid to be yourself!
How would you describe your personal style?
I love to play with different textures when putting my daily looks together—it’s my favorite way to look effortlessly elevated when presenting my style to the world. I also select my outfits based on my emotions and how I’m feeling that day—if it’s gloomy outside, I find myself reaching for a brighter color.
What is the most common style question you see from your clients? And how do you answer?
I get asked about how to start a capsule wardrobe—an edited, foundational collection of clothes and accessories that can be put together in different ways for multiple occasions. I always tell my clients that it isn’t about quantity, but rather having versatile basics that can be mixed and matched throughout the year. You can literally create 100 different looks with just one great graphic tee. Besides sending them basics, I love going through my clients’ past purchases and advising how to build a new foundation with items they already have.
What advice do you have for getting your best Fix?
My biggest advice would definitely be for you to leave feedback for your Stylist—this helps us understand how items worked (or did not work) in your favor. Feedback is key for us to tailor Fixes to your needs. I also highly advise sending any specific requests for any upcoming special occasions or just in general!
Give us a fun fact about yourself!
Not only am I a Stylist, but I also do fashion design on the side. This past year, I worked on my first couture collection—handmade clothing that is custom-fitted for clients. I learned so many new skills like technical pattern-making, embroidery, beadwork, etc. I love learning new things and challenging myself on the daily.
ERIN
StyleFile style personality: Modern Muse
Fun fact: She lived in Asia and Europe for a decade before settling back in the US
What is the best part of your job as a Stitch Fix Stylist?
Listening to and engaging with clients in their daily lives is the most rewarding aspect of being a Stylist. Celebrating their successes and goals, and genuinely sharing in their happiness and accomplishments, is a true privilege.
What is your personal style mantra?
Clothing gives you the opportunity to express your mood, muse and mind. It’s a snapshot of your story. Make it matter.
How would you describe your personal style?
Definitely a mood-based dresser over here! My outfit-building often begins with an inspirational accessory—allowing a standout shoe or earring to guide my look. I love mixing statement pieces with understated classic styles—a white tee and jeans can be elevated by a bold red nail and layering with a tailored blazer.
What is the most common style question you see from your clients? And how do you answer?
How to wear seasonal trends without going overboard. I recommend you start by adding subtle trendy touches throughout your outfit: Pair an on-trend top with your favorite classic bottoms, or try a modern shoe pattern or color that complements your go-to shoe silhouette. Ease yourself in before fully embracing trends from head to toe!
What advice do you have for getting your best Fix?
Actively engage with your Stylist by sharing your thoughts and feedback. Take a vested interest in maintaining your fit preferences, sizes, profile and Style Shuffle—and update them often (pro tip: set a calendar planner to make these updates with each season!). Your Stylist is eager to connect with you and truly values your input, so providing the most up-to-date information is invaluable.
Give us a fun fact about yourself!
I lived in Japan for nearly a decade, and Southeast Asia has become my favorite part of the world—Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam are my favorite places on earth.
LANDESS
StyleFile style personality: Modern Romantic
Fun fact: She speaks French fluently and is obsessed with Parisian style
What is the best part of your job as a Stitch Fix Stylist?
The best part of my job is being able to help people express themselves in their day-to-day lives. Fashion is so personal, and being a part of people’s style journeys is an honor.
What is your personal style mantra?
As long as you’re comfortable and like your look, your confidence will shine through and become your best accessory.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as classic with a twist—I love to play with different textures, silhouettes and materials in my own way. I always encourage my clients to experiment with anything that piques their interest, and I help them refine down the line.
What is the most common style question you see from your clients? And how do you answer?
The question I get the most from clients is: “How do I feel like myself in work attire?” My advice is always to keep it professional, but add your own finishing touches—accessories like headbands, hats, scarves, bags and jewelry will be your best friend when it comes to bringing your personal style into the office.
What advice do you have for getting your best Fix?
Get detailed! The more information you can provide your Stylist, the better. This allows us to get to know you and your preferences better than anyone else. It’s like shopping with your stylish best friend.
Give us a fun fact about yourself!
I speak French and have always been incredibly inspired by Parisian style.
MICHELLE
StyleFile style personality: Modern Authentic
Fun fact: She loves thrifting and finding great vintage clothes
What is the best part of your job as a Stitch Fix Stylist?
My very first job as a fashion stylist was providing disadvantaged women with free suits for interviews and new jobs. Watching someone light up when they find an outfit that makes them feel amazing is incredibly rewarding. It’s more than just clothes—it’s about boosting confidence and self-expression.
What is your personal style mantra?
I’m not one to follow trends but I do love to mix timeless classics with a modern twist—like pairing vintage-inspired clothing and accessories with contemporary pieces to keep things fresh. Fashion should celebrate individuality, and the best looks come from wearing what resonates with your personality and lifestyle.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as an Andy Warhol painting. It’s a unique blend of vintage charm and contemporary edge! Think “retro-modern fusion with an androgynous twist.” I like to combine the timeless elegance of 1950s fashion with the sleek, minimal lines of modern looks, while also embracing the casual, bold attitude of streetwear. It’s a mix of classic and progressive that feels both authentic and versatile.
What is the most common style question you see from your clients? And how do you answer?
I often hear, “I don’t know what my style is. Can you help me?” Style is a journey, and it evolves as we do. I like to start by focusing on what makes you feel confident and comfortable—that piece in your closet that you grab over and over again. From there, we’ll blend your lifestyle needs with styles you might not have tried yet, so we can discover what resonates most with you. Together, we’ll build a wardrobe that feels authentically you—one Fix at a time.
P.S.: I’m so excited about the launch of our new StyleFile experience (get yours here!). It helps determine your unique style personality, which is another really valuable tool to help me get your Fix just right.
What advice do you have for getting your best Fix?
My advice when it comes to choosing looks you’ll love is to always choose style over fashion. Trends are great, but when you get to a point where you’ve learned how to define your own personal style, you’ll create the perfect wardrobe.
Give us a fun fact about yourself!
I love thrifting for vintage clothing and accessories. There’s something exciting about finding unique, timeless pieces that tell a story and add a little extra character to your wardrobe.
