First, selecting a reunion outfit depends on your venue or what is advised on the invitation. If it’s not indicated and you’re not sure, keep these three things in mind:
- Time of event: Afternoon and late evening can mean the difference between wearing a casual sundress and donning a chic cocktail dress.
- Location, location, location: If this is an outdoor event, steer clear of heels to keep yourself from sinking into the grass or tripping over loose gravel.
- Weather: Take a minute to check out the forecast at least a week before the event. You don’t want to get stuck in 100-degree weather in a long sleeve dress! Take the weather into account, and pack a small bottle of sunscreen in your clutch to apply as needed if the event is outdoors.
Here are some ideas for the perfect reunion outfit:
Go Business Casual
A business casual look says you are put together, chic, and modern. Try a tailored trench coat, skinny or slim-straight cropped pants, a silky blouse, and your favorite flats or heels.
Go monotone
Regardless of age or stature, a monotone black look is classic. Try mixing different black materials such as your favorite jeans, a flowy blouse, and a chic leather jacket to add texture and dimension to a basic look.
Go with a dress
There are so many options of dresses out there to fulfill every need so you can select a belted midi dress with a boyfriend style blazer over for cocktail hour or a long maxi with a denim jacket over for a more casual look.
Don’t forget to accessorize
Accessorizing is one of the best ways to infuse your own personal style whether it be a stack of bangles, a statement necklace, or a bold and bright nail or lip color. So don’t be afraid to rock your favorite accessories.
Remember, walk into your reunion with a smile which is the most beautiful accessory!
